My journey into implementation science is an interesting one. I am a Biochemist with special interest in anticancer research. In 2019 a friend encouraged me to take a TDR/ MOOC course on implementation research, little did I know that I would be diving into the sea in Implementation science. Having joined some colleagues in my institution, we wrote a joint proposal on how to increase the uptake of HPV vaccination and cervical screening in Ibadan North local Government, Oyo state, Nigeria. At that time, I was experiencing a down time in my life but by divine arrangement my team was selected to participate in the Change challenge. During the Change challenge, our team was given the task of preparing a pitch presentation for eight minutes, I gained following specific skills during the Challenge; Team spirit, Project Management, communication skills, problem-solving skills, continuous learning and soft skills (Critical Thinking, adaptability)
