Dr. Juliet Iwelunmor is a Chief Dreamer and Principal Contact for the 4 Communities Group, leading its members and partners in its mission to advance lasting scientific insights that transform cancer control in Nigeria. Juliet is inspired by stories and believes that the best to way to last, is to tell stories that foster connections, inspire collaboration, and create lasting impact for people everywhere. She is a Professor of Medicine and an Associate Director for Global Health and Dissemination at Washington University School of Medicine. A passionate advocate for health equity and sustainability, Dr. Iwelunmor is widely regarded for understanding how to make evidence-based interventions last, reshaping the focus on community engagement using participatory research, improving the dissemination of health information, while amplifying the voices of young people and communities in health interventions. She combines more than a decade of authority and leadership in the use of dissemination and implementation science to deliver cutting-edge health programs that create tangible impact.
Oliver Chukwujekwu Ezechi, MD, PhD is the Chief Leader, and co-Principal contact for the 4 Communities Group, leading the local coordination of research and planning through the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research Network. Also by building and maintaining strong connections with researchers and policymakers involved with cancer control in Nigeria. Dr. Ezechi is the Director of Research at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research Lagos and Professor of Maternal, Reproductive and Child Health at the Lead City University Ibadan, Nigeria. He believes that all communities deserve a platform that recognizes and celebrates their unique strengths and assets. He is excited to create lasting processes for collecting and managing data that transforms cancer control in Nigeria. He has devoted his career to the management, and research in infectious diseases of poverty and women’s health, and currently Directs the Centre for Reproductive and Population Health at the institute. Dr. Ezechi is actively involved in training and mentoring the next generation of health care workers and servers as an examiner to a number of Universities and the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.
Dr. Tucker is Chief Leader, and co-Principal contact for the 4 Communities Group, helping advance the work of researchers studying ways to prevent and end cancer in Nigeria using participatory methods such as crowdsourcing open calls and designathons. He assists with managing the groups participatory research and coaching activities for the next generation of early career investigators, while working to facilitate and maintain new relationships with research partners. Dr. Tucker is an infectious diseases physician and social scientist with a special interest in crowdsourcing and related participatory methods. Crowdsourcing has a diverse group of individuals attempt to solve a problem and then share selected solutions with the public. Dr. Tucker has used crowdsourcing to develop multiple interventions and enhance community engagement. He organized over 100 crowdsourcing open calls to improve health, in multiple global contexts. Finalist ideas from these open calls have informed regional, national, and global guidelines. In partnership with WHO/TDR, he also led the development of a practical guide on crowdsourcing for health and health research.
